Police Reports and Accident Reports
How to request a Police Report:
Reports containing requestor’s names or reports in which a requestor is involved may be obtained by filling out the Request for Report Form below. Other individuals requesting reports may only do so by submitting a Freedom of Information Request Form to the Town Clerk’s Office, which will be processed according to the provisions of the Public Officers Law.
Reports may be obtained as follows: a) picked up in person by the requestor 72 hours after a copy of the report is requested b) mailed to the requestor if a self addressed stamped envelope is provided at the time of the request c) E-mailed to the requestor d) faxed to the requestor. I.D. must be presented at the time of request. There is a charge of $.25 per page for reports in excess of 4 pages.
NOTE
ANY REPORTS PERTAINING TO JUVENILES ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR DISSEMINATION REGARDLESS OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO THE JUVENILE IN QUESTION!

How to request an Accident Report:
Completion of the Privacy Act Certification is required for your request to be processed. A copy will be mailed, faxed or emailed to the requester. For US mail a self-addressed stamped envelope must be provided at the time of the request. I.D. must be presented when the report is requested. Please allow FIVE (5) business days from the date of the accident for your request to be processed. There is no fee charged for a copy of your report. Reports are also available on line at www.buycrash.com for a fee.
NOTE
Requests by Insurance Carriers must be accompanied by a cover letter on Agency Letterhead
Requests by Attorneys must be accompanied by a notarized release from an involved party
