October 28th Update

Contractors will be working 24-hour shifts in the road from Monday, November 7 to Wednesday, November 9.

December 7th, 2021
Between Monday, December 6 and Friday, December 17, Leewood Drive will be closed at all times to both eastbound and westbound traffic between Oakland Avenue and Dale Road.  The contractor is coordinating with the Eastchester Police Department to direct traffic in the area during that time.   

Between Monday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 15, construction activities will occur around the clock (including throughout the evenings of December 13 and December 14).  Activities during this time period are necessary to ensure there is no disruption to water service in the area.

October 12th, 2021 - Update -

Please note that from Wednesday, October 13 to Friday October 22, there will be lane closures in the vicinity of the Suez Pump Station Construction Site.

These closures will occur between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. 

The Eastchester Police Department will be coordinating and/or assisting with traffic control measures at these times.

A permit was recently issued to Suez to permit Phase I Construction activities on the property (e.g., site clearing, installation of underground utilities and temporary bypass piping).

Please note that the tunnel at Leewood Drive is no longer proposed to be closed at any time during these activities.

In September, there may be temporary lane closures on Leewood Drive and traffic may be detoured down Dale Road and/or Oakland Avenue to Cross Hill Road and/or Benedict Avenue.

We will inform you if and when there will be lane closures.  At those times, traffic will be directed by the Eastchester Police Department.
